International airline passenger traffic records have been smashed across Australia in the past year as the Gold Coast continues to position itself as one of the busiest airports in the country. Gold Coast is now Australia’s fifth busiest for international passenger traffic with the latest figures showing Gold Coast passenger traffic has shot up by 80% in the past year. International airline traffic at Gold Coast Airport jumped from 361,961 in the year ended January 2009 to 652,151 in January 2010.
